What Demo Mode Lets You Explore
Dashboardly Demo Mode is an interactive workspace with realistic sample shops and data. You can open the brand experience or switch to the agency experience to explore dashboards, sales and profit reporting, Profit & Loss, Affiliate Performance, cash flow, inventory, customers, orders, marketing, warehouses, and agency tools without connecting your own TikTok Shop.
Demo Mode is separate from your paid account status. Subscription, payment, order-limit, and data-import warnings do not apply while you explore the sample workspace.
The demo is designed for hands-on evaluation, not only viewing. You can configure summary cards, change reporting preferences, adjust table columns and filters, create manual adjustments, edit eligible settings, and try supported agency workflows. On Sales & Profit, a new demo session starts with six focused summary cards: Gross Sales, Net Sales, Gross Profit, Net Profit, Gross Margin, and Net Margin. Use Configure Metrics to add or remove the other available cards.
How Session-Only Changes Work
Changes you make in Demo Mode belong only to your current demo browser session. They are visible while you move between supported demo pages, but they do not change the shared sample shops and cannot affect another visitor. Starting a new demo login resets the workspace to the standard demo defaults.
This isolation also protects an account you were using before entering the demo. For example, changing a reporting basis, sales scope, Inventory filter, Product breakdown style, dashboard date range, or table layout in Demo Mode does not replace the preference saved for your real account. When you leave Demo Mode and return to your account, Dashboardly restores your original preferences.
Changes You Can Try
Demo Mode supports session-only changes across the main product workflows:
- Dashboard, Sales & Profit, Inventory, and Product pages: configure metric cards, date ranges, views, filters, reporting basis, sales scope, and table layouts.
- Manual Adjustments and Cash Flow: create, edit, suspend, resume, and delete adjustments to see how they affect reports.
- Inventory and Warehouse: try eligible COGS, shipping, warehouse fee, bundle, and cost-import settings without changing the shared demo shop.
- Settings: edit eligible profile preferences, VAT settings, table presets, and agency branding text or colors.
- Agency Demo: create or edit clients, reports, and collaborators, and try invitation or report-delivery flows without sending a real external message.
- Affiliate Performance: compare synthetic creator, product, content, GMV, commission, creator profit, and matched GMV Max creative data for demo US shops. Rank videos across creators in Creative performance, or open one creator to explore paid impressions/clicks, spend, blended attributed revenue, ROAS, ACoS, CTR, and CPC with the same source-basis disclosure used for real accounts. The agency demo's UK shop remains available on other pages but is excluded from this US-only feature.
Exports and previews remain available where the page normally supports them. A report or record created only in Demo Mode remains a session item, so Dashboardly keeps actions that require a permanent public file or link unavailable.
Actions That Stay Protected
Some actions cannot be safely simulated because they create credentials, charges, external messages, or real third-party connections. Demo Mode therefore keeps these actions unavailable:
- connecting or disconnecting TikTok Shop or advertising accounts;
- changing passwords or creating API keys;
- changing subscriptions, payment methods, or paid plans;
- sending support requests or other real external messages;
- creating permanent public report links from session-only reports.
These safeguards do not make the rest of the demo read-only. They separate interactive product evaluation from actions that would affect systems outside the current demo session.
Affiliate Performance follows the same rule. Its demo data is matched to the sample orders and P&L facts, but Dashboardly does not add a fake TikTok Affiliate permission or credential. Reconnect and reauthorization actions stay protected.
Common Questions
Why did my demo changes disappear?
Demo changes reset when a new demo login starts. This is intentional: every visitor receives the same clean starting point, and changes from one person never appear for another.
Why can I configure widgets but not connect an ad account?
Widget configuration is a session-only Dashboardly preference, so it is safe to try. Connecting an ad account requires real TikTok authorization and credentials, so that action stays protected in Demo Mode.
Can I switch between brand and agency demos?
Yes. Use the switch option in the Demo Mode banner. The destination opens with its standard sample data and session-isolated editing behavior.
